Craig (Lead singer and Rhythm guitar and band manager)
Craig formed The Originals with the above in mind and had been seeking the right talented people to apply this energy for years, and eventually found them following many attempts with previous band members. His first band was The Termites (very Beatles and sixties he thought) before venturing into a duo and solo career, but that energy just wasn't there.
In the late 80s, attempting to find the right band he played with bands Wall Street and Sounds Familiar before before focusing on his career after having his first children in the mid-90s. Upon returning to the stage in 2000 he joined Route 66 and The Rhythm Jets covering sixties and seventies before finally putting together The Originals.
Dave (Bass Player backing vocals)
Dave started playing guitar in the 60's with his first band he helped form called The Interns. This lasted a couple of years with some moderate success in the Blackpool area. His second band was called Tom Thumb and the Fingerprints (love the 60's names) again this lasted a while until family came along so an extended break was taken. Returned to music in the 70's playing keyboards this time first with the band Decade and then in a duo called Cool Breeze which was a very successful club act in the southern region.
Went on to become a founder member of Breathless a good time rock and roll band based in Milton Keynes which was when he took up bass playing as nobody else wanted the job. Moved back up north in early 2000 and joined The Chevrolets again playing bass. Left after a couple of years and played and depped with various bands but finally settled with The Originals which he says he's the happiest he's been in a band for years playing with good experienced people and friends.
Pete McDonald (Drums & Percussion)
In a long and varied musical career, Pete has rattled the drums on and off over the last 40 years with a number of notable North West based bands, including 'The Still' and most recently Stockport's very own 'The Blues Blasters'. A versatile, dependable and experienced drummer, Pete is noted for his simple, no nonsense, solid style of playing. Has filled in at short notice for a number of other bands looking for a 'dep' drummer. Joined 'The Originals' in June 2018 after a fateful intervention, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Bob Bell (Lead Guitar)
Bob started playing guitar at the age of 19, first mucking about with a mate who later became part of a trio, unfortunately named Donkey Dick. Bob's mate bought an electric guitar and Bob soon followed suit buying his first guitar for £18.00 quid, at first playing rhythm guitar before moving onto his preferred lead guitar. At the age of 20 he made his first stage appearance as a trio playing small pubs and clubs before joining the band After Midnight, a sixties cover band with Bob on lead guitar. Presley in Mind was an Elvis tribute band where Bob again covered Lead guitar before later playing for 10 years with the band Heartbeat. Bob's final move was to The Originals where he now provides us with that distinctive and lovable sixties sound.
The Originals continue to play at pubs and clubs and enjoy a great reputation, and so may it continue as a great sixties band. The Originals are proud to say they play annually at the Savoy Hotel in Blackpool, supporting some of the great, still-existing sixties band like Union Gap, Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Fourmost, Mike Penders Searchers, and Wayne Fontana, showing that our efforts are paying off and our music is more than appreciated.
